What Singapore lacks in size it more than makes up for in culture, street life, futuristic skyscrapers, luxury hotels, elegant temples and grand colonial buildings. This tiny island state measures just 50 km from east to west and 27 km from north to south with 193 km of coastline.

Although its history stretches back thousands of years, modern Singapore was founded in 1819 when the British governor, Sir Stamford Raffles, landed in Singapore and established it as a trading post for the British East India Company.

Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a City Orientation Tour (0900-1230hr)

See the city’s colonial heritage as we drive around the Civic District past the Padang, the Cricket Club, Parliament House and the National Gallery Singapore. Stop at the Merlion Park for great views of Marina Bay and a picture-taking opportunity with the Merlion, a mythological creature that is part lion and part fish. The tour continues with a visit to the Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of the oldest Buddhist-Taoist temples on the island, built with donation from the early immigrant workers from China before driving past Chinatown.

From there we proceed to the National Orchid Garden, located within the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which boasts a sprawling display of 60,000 orchid plants comprising of 400 species and more than 2,000 hybrids. Our final stop at Little India will enthrall you with the scent of spices, jasmine, orchid garlands and exotic fruits.

Tour (1800-2200hr)

The world’s first Night Safari set in 40 hectares of secondary jungle, will unfold the mystery and drama of the tropical jungle after dusk with stunning effects. See the myriad of nocturnal animals, from fierce predators to timid forest dwellers, in their natural habitat under subtle moon light. Roam the jungle in the complete safety and comfort of your Tram which takes you through the East and West Loop passing by a large reservoir and weaving through selected habitats designed specifically to replicate the natural environment from the Himalayan Foothills to the Southeast Asian Rainforest and Indian Subcontinent.

On completion of the tram ride, your tour guide will lead you on a walking trail where you will be able to view some animals at closer quarters.

Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a tour through the Gardens by the Bay (0900-1230hr)

Voted as one of the Top 10 Indoor Gardens of the World, it features more than one million plants from more than 5,000 species.

Marvel at the 35-metre tall indoor waterfall and stroll above the jungle canopy via aerial walkways at Cloud Forest. Replicating the cool and dry Mediterranean climate, Flower Dome showcases exotic plants from five continents in nine different gardens.

Breakfast at the hotel and time for leisure until your transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
